Spring Clean your Roof

Spring is coming to an end and chances are you have decluttered and deep-cleaned. While we are stuck inside for a little bit longer, it is the perfect time to do a once-over on this roofing checklist to maintain a functioning, clean roof. Neglecting your roof can lead to deterioration, which can shorten the life of your roof. Spring clean your roof before the summer!

Branches
Check the trees surrounding your home. Make sure any branches touching the roof are trimmed down. Look for any trees that show signs of decay or disease because rotting trees and branches can damage your roof.

Gutters
Call on the experts to clean out your gutters and remove any debris that can result in clogs. Gutter clogs can lead to a damaged foundation or roof leak.

Washing
Lots of debris ends up on a roof throughout a year. Even if you cannot see the debris from the ground, it can still be enough to cause damage. While you may be tempted to DIY bleach or pressure wash your roof clean, consider that doing so can damage the integrity of your roof and not to mention, injure you in the process. So call the professionals to get the job done correctly every year or two.

Damage
Hail, storm season and harsh winters can cause severe damage to your roof. Depending on your roofing materials, you may notice water damage, loose shingles and cracks. If you have not been diligent about maintaining your roof, or if you know you likely have damage from storms and inclement weather, there is no better time to have your roof checked out! A DIY roof spring clean cannot fix everything. If you would like more information about our no-contact roofing inspections, call us at (972) 505-2800.
